Okay right now to get a shadow effect I'm basically having to instances of the same exact list except 1 is white and 1 is black, however what if I want to change the color when I'm selecting it? without using ugh that blocky highlighter? Some games allow you highlight text when selected.
Now onto the Cursor, how do you have cursor's (basically an animation of a pointer, or a static image) that just points at the selected list item. Look at Final Fantasy, when you're selecting an item in the menu or options menu you'll see a pointer giving X amount of choices and this is what I'm trying to do cause I can't even figure out where the font data(not the FontData file but the file that controls the size X, the color X as I thought about coding in text shadows.
I don't like the rectangles, and unless there's a way to HAVE another selection option I just want a way of coding a cursor manually or just add it to the menu.
Now I have a font question, I have a font that I really wanna use but have no idea how to format it into a workable font for EGM as 1 this would make font stuff EASIER of course just if you wanted shadows or wanted to have a stroke but that doesn't solve highlighted text for menus, and for textboxs which most FF games have. "Important text".
Example.
Guy: Hey, you think you can go to the [c="blue"]canyon[/c] and pick up some stuff for tonight?
Anyway.. here's that image of what I'm trying to do.
