Avatar alpha channel..

How come this site doesn't support something as simple as an alpha channel? Just curious because my avatar had it now this is the only site that it has a black bg..

I've changed my avatar but this problem still remains.

I've never come across this problem before with any images I've had with alpha.

Could you please attach a copy of the original image you had so I can do some testing with it?

It is odd because I uploaded the image and posted it from an external site and the alpha remains, but why doesn't it work for my avatar?..
