EGM is already being proven to be a hassle for some people, you should post the PC requirements as some people still have PCs/laptops from 5 years ago.

We don't know the requirements yet, so that's why we haven't posted. Once we have enough data, we will. However, the people currently having problems are all stats we've tested, they have more then enough to run EGM specs wise.

320 ram? Really? We haven't tested that low, let me know how it performs in this thread.

From what we have seen from tests, the average memory EGM uses ranges from 60-150mb in normal usage, depending on things like map sizes etc.
It "might" be possible that EGM runs fine, so I recommend giving it a go if you want to try it out, after all you can always uninstall it if it is too slow :)

I actually might just recommend trading in your laptop for something better, $200 can go a LOONG ways in the computer market. While this is stupid for just a game engine but it's also one of the better 2D engines out there that don't require programming but can also can compete and out perform engines like Torque 2D(imo).

Just get a simple 13-15" laptop with at least 1GB of memmory and intel core 2 duo, and get something that doesn't have intergrated gfx.. $200 to $300 should suite you, you can probably get exactly what you need for cheaper.

Check out Dell, Gateway, HP as all have cheap and good affordable laptops available.

Otherwise try and get the model number so I can at least try and look for memmory sticks, maybe all you need is a simple $20 upgrade to un egm.

My laptop(dwarfed by my workstation) was about $1000, by todays standards. That's about 4-500 dollars. maybe less.
I got it in 2008.

Don't use it but it's their.

Oh, lol. Well anyway I'm not upgrading this machine anymore, I'm tired of doing it. If EGM doesn't work/work well on here than I'll just wait for my laptop, and in the mean time mess with GM8.

Hey there, I was wondering if EGM would work on a net book with a resolution 1024 x 600? I'm using this because I had a computer switch. I've been waiting so long to get my hands on this and I really wanna use it. I want to know if I should just cancel the installation of XNA so I don't waste my time or not. I'm only at 19%. It says I have about another hour and a half to go. Please help!

Hey there! Need sprites, resources? Contact me!

EGM uses XNA to make your games, you can not make games without XNA. XNA allows making games for both Windows and Xbox, which is an important feature for EGM.

We haven't tested on a 1024 x 600 resolution but it should work fine. Let us know how it goes! :)

Oh, ok, sorry. I'm new to this whole 'advanced' game making thing. I will let you know when it's finished. Thanks!
EDIT: Well guys, after a long wait I finally got to open up EGM. I haven't gotten any errors with my screen size at start up and it seems to be very use friendly with net books considering there are scroll bars all over the place to help you navigate.
So, EGM on net book rating: 9/10
I seem to be getting a lot of (Not Responding) issues. And, although it is user net book friendly, it is still cluttered.

Thanks very much for the feedback!
As for the cluttered-ness, where specifically is it most notable? Is it possible to get a screenshot of what you mean, in order to help us optimize the screen space?
